Who are we?

We’re Umbrella ND – a neurodivergent-led community that’s changing the game for ND folks everywhere.

Think of us as your go-to crew for authentic support, real talk, and resources that actually get it. We’re not just another organization talking about neurodivergent people – we’re neurodivergent people talking with each other, creating the community we’ve always needed.

Founded by and for the ND community, we bring together diverse voices across the spectrum of neurodivergence – from Autism, ADHD, and Giftedness to Dyslexia, OCD, Migraine, and beyond. We’re here to talk honestly about our experiences, challenge the rules that don’t work for us, and build something better together.

Who do we serve?

We serve all neurodivergent people, specifically ensuring marginalized community members lead the conversation. Whether you’re Autistic, have ADHD, live with OCD, navigate Bipolar, deal with Dyslexia, are a stroke or TBI survivor, or otherwise identify as neurodivergent – you belong here.

We’re especially committed to centering perspectives of marginalized community members. We know that being neurodivergent intersects social and economic disadvantage and so much more. That’s why we prioritize economically and socially disadvantaged ND communities, ensuring everyone has access to the support and resources they deserve.

Our community also includes allies – family members, friends, educators, healthcare providers, and advocates who want to show up authentically for neurodivergent people. We’re here to help you learn how to support us in ways that actually help.

Our Mission

Here’s the deal: We believe every neurodivergent person deserves inclusion, equity, and the opportunity to thrive – no exceptions.

Our mission is to build a neurodivergent-led, intersectional community that develops resources, education, and self-advocacy support for ND folks and their allies. We collaborate with community members to create and provide widespread access to free or low-cost, evidence-based, and community-created neuroinclusive resources that promote well-being and meaningful community involvement.

We’re done passively waiting for the world to catch up with what we know and what we need. We’re taking action to improve healthcare access, challenge bias, correct misinformation, and create the inclusive spaces we need to flourish. Through our initiatives like the Neurodivergents’ Self-Advocacy Survival Guide (SASG), Brainbow Media, and our partnership project Autistic Advocates United, we’re not just dreaming of change – we’re making it happen.
